S&T provides public standards-based interactive TV solutions for the creation, distribution and reception of content. Using an open standards-based interactive TV middleware solution is now increasingly accepted as the way forward. Not only is this because it allows low receiver costs (with a multitude of global suppliers of technology, product and services) and the creation of applications that can be deployed wherever the standard is used, but also because it fosters a vibrant consumer model and allows broadcasters to reach near 100 per cent audience penetration with interactive services.
