Video on Demand & Catch-Up TV

With Video on Demand the customer gains access to a wealth of film and television entertainment at the touch of a button. Video can be accessed immediately and is then streamed or downloaded to the viewer’s receiving equipment. S&T provide a number of applications that facilitate the delivery of video to the set-top box. We focus on providing solutions that are of low cost to the consumer and solve the problems of VoD catalogue delivery over a broadcast network.

S&T Player

S&T Player is a highly flexible, data-driven MHEG-5 application that runs within the TV's CI Plus Browser. It allows subscribers to navigate the full VoD catalogue – including catch-up TV – and select individual titles for viewing using the TVs remote control. Video is delivered via DVB-C or IP, and once playback has started, S&T Player offers viewers full control (e.g. pause, stop, skip forwards/backwards, etc.).

S&T Mediator

Mediator provides integration with back-office video catalogues. It is a flexible, scalable framework for accessing, processing and caching VoD Data. Mediator supplies data to S&T Player in a format that is highly optimised and requires very little processing within the TV. This approach minimises the bandwidth required for data communications and helps ensure the best possible performance for the viewer.

TSBroadcaster 2

TSBroadcaster 2 is our rock-solid system for delivering interactive television applications. It generates DSM-CC carousels and encodes them into MPEG-2 transport streams for the delivery of signalling, applications and firmware updates. It conforms to OCAP, ETV, DVB-MHP and MHEG standards and has been widely deployed on a global basis
