We have two products that provide early binding of interactive content and triggers into video assets before transmission. This allows pre-recorded content to be enhanced, tested and reviewed ahead of time, and reduces the need for systems support in the live transmission network, as the interactive content is played out automatically and in synch alongside the video content.
TSBinder. TSBinder binds ETV applications into video assets. It ingests a single-program transport stream, and inserts ETV triggers and content into the stream and when the asset is eventually played out, the specified ETV application will be launched and run alongside the content. TSBinder uses the CableLabs CoDF standard to specify the timing, lifecycle and content of the applications to be inserted to allow them to be closely syncrhonized with the underlying content. TSBinder can be used to enhance 30 second ad spots that can be delivered from a standard ad splicer, or it can be used to insert one or more applications at specified points in long-form assets.
CCBinder. CCBinder inserts ATSC 2.0 triggers into video assets. This allows ATSC application to be bound into assets in the same way as TSBinder. CCBinder uses an XML format for the trigger specification to control the application lifecycles.
