After 23 years, the founders of S&T,  Nick Birch and David Cutts,  are retiring from the business and leaving to pursue other interests. The company will now be run by Adrian Fowkes as Managing Director, and John Nicholas will join the Board. Chris Wass will take over the management of UK operations.

Nick Birch,  departing Innovation Director,  said,  “It has been an extremely rewarding experience to have started S&T at the birth of digital TV in the UK. There is nothing like working on novel challenges with talented and creative people. However, the time has come to move on. We leave the business in capable hands and wish it all the best for the future.”

David Cutts,  departing Managing Director,  said,  “Creating and running S&T through all stages of company growth and change has been exciting and totally absorbing for many years, but the time has come to move on.   We have had the privilege to have a great group of people working with us and we have built some good technology for great customers over the years.  We hand over the reins to Adrian and the team in the certain knowledge that they know the business and that customers can be sure of continued quality of service and software. “

S&T will continue in the business of serving the US cable industry and ATSC3.0 broadcast market with data broadcast and monitoring equipment and, through its subsidiary Synapse TV,  with the business of delivering OTT content and services to Freeview, YouView and ATSC3.0  television systems. S&T Client Systems will also continue to supply and support MHEG engines for TV receivers.

Adrian Fowkes, Managing Director, said, “I am looking forward to taking the helm at S&T and working with our dedicated and professional team to support and develop our products and services for current and future customers.”
